Highlights

Eustace convinced the Pope to give him a claim on Flanders, and he died almost as soon as the war started. Eustace was beatified on his death. His son pressed the claim and took control of the duchy. Betrothed to the next door Duchess of Picardie things looked good. Declared war for Normandy on Norway in favor of my cousin Judith and could have won with Picardie's help. However my brother the count of Hainaut called Picardie into a war vs the King so Picardie's armies turned on me and I couldn't finish the war before Norway recovered. Died, watched the crusade for Jerusalem happen and there wasn't much I could do. The plague hit and died heirless in 1112. Completed 1/24/2019
